Frozen Live at the Hyperion has arrived at the Disneyland Resort (Review)

Frozen Live at the Hyperion has arrived at the Disneyland Resort (Review)

Source: Coomingsoon.net
As of Friday May 27th, 2016, Frozen Live at The Hyperion has began showing and entertaining guests. After Aladdin the Musical Spectacular had its final curtain call, it was announced that Frozen was going to take the mantle and try to create a new and exciting spectacular for guest.

Disney did try sometime new but it was far from spectacular. Frozen Live at the Hyperion is a visually beautiful show, but that is it. It lacks everywhere else and does not make the hype or wait for this show worth it. It lacks everywhere except the visuals, and even then at first it seems like a visual overload. The show uses very little set designs and relies heavily on screens. It seems that they had a very high budget, I mean come on it's Disney, but they wasted it all on their high tech screens. This has Shanghai written all over it. (I will not discuss this yet!) This is the overall review and feeling I got for this. I will go into specifics right below.

The story for the musical was overall good, they tried their best to compress 90 minutes of film into 50 minutes. Even the director admitted in videos that this was going to be a challenge for them. The story flows kinda good, but it needed the appearance of Marshmallow and the scene where the Duke and Hans goes after Elsa. They did very well in the intro scene with the Frozen Heart scene, and expanded more on the funeral. Overall the story was great.

Source:Comingsoon.net

The costumes were horrible! Like I mentioned earlier, it seemed that they spent all their money on the screens and went cheap on the costumes. Toys R Us sells better costumes for little girls than what Disney dished out in the musical. Elsa looked like she had a hunchback from where I was from. Their costumes looked huge and tacky. The wigs were the worst part of it all. Kristoff's and Anna's wig were the winners of the worst wig contest. I have seen better cosplays of Anna and Elsa. Disney got a strike there. The trolls, especially grand papi, were creepy looking and could of done a better job.

The acting, well what can I say? It was decent, mediocre at best. The duke and Anna seemed that they overreacted at some parts. The cast tried to hard at times also. The dialogue seemed forced and the cast also did not have enough chemistry. Many people said that it was their first day and within a month they should get better. I surely do hope so, for their sake! If not, I do not see this lasting very long. They had months to rehearse and create chemistry, I am hoping it was just nerves and jitterbugs the cast had.

The puppets were actually quite impressive! Sven and Olaf were great and loved their scenes except for one thing. The cast member playing Olaf seemed to have failed to do a great job in ventriloquy. In his first scene, he came out took front and center stage with Anna while Kristoff and Sven were behind them. When Olaf talked to Kristoff, Olaf failed to make eye contact with him. Olaf kept looking stage left instead of behind him.

The choreography was mediocre, the only highlight was the choreography for the sequence For the First Time in Forever. It was different from the film and I enjoyed it!

The effects, well that was the only thing that saved the show! That scene where Anna and Kristoff are escaping the wolves was priceless! I loved that scene and the wolves looked very realistic! They did a better job with the wolves versus Anna and Elsa. The way they portrayed Elsa's powers was done excellent. This was a blessing and a curse! Without the effects, the show would of been horrible, but it is a curse because it relies too much on those screens! That looses the feel of Broadway and looks like another Frozen Sing Along!

Source: Tumblr

Compared to Aladdin, this was mediocre and only worth seeing once! Aladdin was outdated and yet seems so far more superior than Frozen. Aladdin did a great job with everything they did, even though it did have its' own flaws.

Frozen Live at the Hyperion deserves TWO out of FIVE stars! One star for effects, half star for story, half star for the puppets and choreography.

Disney Infinity's Mad Hatter Gameplay Footage and Review

Disney Infinity's Mad Hatter Gameplay Footage and Review

\

Hello SOM, last week I posted a video and wrote a review on Disney Infinity's newest figure, Alice. Today, Alice, Mad Hatter, and Time from the new movie Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass; are released officially today. Last week I got my hands on the Alice figure early and exclusively. Today I am here to show you folks the new footage on the Mad Hatter.

The Mad Hatter is one of the newest figures and is very interesting figure. He talks and looks like Tim Burton's Hatter played by Johnny Depp. He is an amazing figure, for his range attack he throws his hat at his enemies. His melee attack consists of hitting with his hat and using tricks and magic from his hat. Tea pots, pies and several knick knacks come out from his hat to cause damage to his enemies. His ground slam is throwing a boiling exploding tea pot.  His finisher is unleashing a tea party with his friends and throwing alot of tea cups at all the enemies around him.

Already he is a level 5 and I enjoyed playing as him. This is easily one of the most greatest characters and one of the fun figures to play with.

  See the gameplay footage below:

Let us know, will be getting this figure? What are your thoughts? Comment below

This is SOM, see you all at the parks!

Disney Infinity's Alice in Wonderland Through the Looking Glass Figure Gameplay and Review

Disney Infinity's Alice in Wonderland Through the Looking Glass Figure Gameplay and Review

Source: Gabriel Ramos

Alice, The Mad Hatter, and Time are one of the last characters for Disney Infinity. On May 10, Disney announced the Infinity will be on the chopping block and cancelled. The last figures released are these three characters and a Finding Dory Playset. We are not sure if Peter Pan will still be released and which characters are on the Finding Dory Playset.
I recently got Alice early and exclusively before the public and have gotten the chance to play as her. She is one of the top characters of Disney Infinity and culminate the game perfectly. She as a flamingo croquet mallet and swings it at her enemies. This is her close combat attack. She also swings a hedgehog at her enemies with the right trigger known as the far combat attack. Her special attack is two options, which is a first for any figure, she can eat an eat me cake and grow big. She attacks her enemies and can be a one hit kill. She is slow but powerful. The other option is she drinks a drink me potion and shrinks and is faster and hits enemies multiple times. She also can summon the Chesire Cat and he can confuse and trick her enemies which allows her for an advantage in attack her enemies. Among this she has several fighting skills which can help her in combat. She is one strong character and a great addition to the game. I cannot wait for Hatter and Time.

I wish Disney Infinity was not cancelled but good things come to an end. Many folks are  not happy and also are discontent with Alice and Hatter being released. Many folks prefer the original Walt Disney's classic but Tim Burton's Alice is a great figure and very powerful and will be amazing to use in races and combat challenges. These last figures really are a great culmination to the amazing game known as Disney Infinity.
Thank you Disney Infinity team for the magic and memories you helped create, thank you for allowing me to create my world with infinite possibilities. There you have it folks! Now check below for the gameplay video! Alice is a 5 out of 5 stars!
Alice will be released on May 24th along with Mad Hatter and Time!
Will you be getting these figures?! Have you played Disney Infinity?! LET US KNOW

Disney Bounding: By Ashley Manjarrez

DISNEY BOUNDING

Image-1-1.jpg
Source: Ashley Manjarrez
Hello everyone, my name is Ashley Manjarrez and I will be talking about all things Disney bounding! I started Disney Bounding my senior year of high school. Every day I dressed as a different character; my friends and teachers loved guessing who I was and looked forward to it every day. I even did a Disney bound for my prom! For those who don’t know what Disney Bounding is, it is when your outfit is based on or inspired by a Disney character, ride, or place in the park.

13118847_1330659763615662_5017557418648403397_n.jpg
Source: Ashley Manjarrez

How-to:
Step 1: Choose your theme. I tend to dress as different characters and not so much as rides or places. Some of my favorites are Flynn Rider, Faline from Bambi, Thumper, and the princesses. Once you have chosen your theme you can start working on your look!

IMG_2747.JPG
Source: Ashley Manjarrez
Step 2: color scheme. Each character has their own unique look. What makes them different is the colors they wear. For instance, when Tarzan wears his dad’s suit, the colors are a dark blue jacket and pants with a burgundy button up, where as Roxanne wears a blue/green top with jean shorts and white shoes, Find the right color pattern to set your look. Some characters are easier to distinguish than other such as mickey, pooh, or peter pan. This will help you find the right pieces and you won’t need to break your wallet. Most of these outfits can be put together with ease. All is takes are the right colors and you are good to go! For Girls, places to shop at are Target G-Stage, Forever 21, Walmart, Kohl's and H&M. For men, Target, Kohl’s, H&M men and Forever 21 men.

Step 3: Accessories. Sometimes adding a hat, necklace, or scarf can pull the whole outfit together. Finding those key elements to a character can go a long way. With Peter Pan’s shadow, you don’t have much to work with because as a shadow the only colors you can use are grey and black, so the accessories will help tie it all together. I pair the outfit with a peter pan necklace and a bracelet that says “never grow up.” You can purchase many accessories from stores such as Forever 21, Hot topic, or Claire’s. They tend to have many deals such as buy one get one, or 50% off. They do not necessarily have to be “Disney” accessories, anything can work as long as you get creative. If you dress as bulls eye you might pair your nude outfit with cowboy style boots and horse necklace, maybe even a leather bag. Don’t be afraid to try something new or colors that are bright. If you wear a red feather earring with a green dress and brown boots you instantly become peter pan! Or maybe try grey pants and a grey shirt with a bright red scarf and now you’re Tramp from Lady and the Tramp!

Source: Ashely Manjarrez

Step 4: Hair. Sometimes, the way you style your hair can also help. For instance, if you were princess Anna maybe two braids or an updo. For Rapunzel, try down with a flower crown or clip. Guys have a limitation but if you’re bounding as Aladdin, his is puffy and full of volume, where as Prince Phillip is sharp and well kept. Many Disney men wear hats, or beanies so if you don’t have long enough hair to style then do not worry!, Try accessorizing with hats, scarves and bags instead!

Follow these four simple steps and you will be a pro in no time! Just remember to have fun and be creative! Also, don’t be afraid to wear bold colors or accessories; step out of your comfort zone and experience the ‘whole new world’ of Disney Bounding! Thank you and I hope you enjoy trying new things!

Marvel's Captain America: Cvil War Movie Review (SPOILER FREE)

Marvel's Captain America: Cvil War Movie Review (SPOILER FREE)

Source: Marvel.com

The Russo Brothers did it again! Anthony and Joe Russo take the helm and direct what could be Marvel's biggest hit since Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The Russo Brothers proved that they executed the cinematography, visuals, music, story, and characters perfectly. They proved to all Marvel fans that they will go above and beyond when Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 comes around.

In Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, government interference pressures Captain America (Chris Evans) and his newly formed Avengers into segregation when the UN and other country's governments want the Avengers to be held accountable for all their actions. This status quo divides the team up into two sides. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) sides with the government and agrees to government oversight in regards to the Avengers and introduces an anti-hero bill along with secretary of state Thaddeus Ross (Sam Hutt) called the Sokovia Accords, Sokovia being the name of the country where the aftermath of Avengers Age of Ultron took place; and wants Captain America and his team to sign it. Captain America disagrees and strongly believes that superheroes should remain free to defend humanity without interference. Which soon causes a huge debate which leads to a feud and clashes of heroes. This pushes Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johanson), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olson), and The Vision (Paul Bethany) to pick a side.

Source: Marvel Studios

The film has a very strong story and twist and turns that make you puzzle and challenge you which side to pick. Often times I found agreeing with both Iron Man and Captain America. The writing of this film was perfectly done! This was not a one sided story that just focused on Captain America and made Iron Man the villain or antagonist. It dwells deeper, morally challenging you to think before just choosing a side. Each character got enough screen time that no superhero film has done well before. The dialogue between each character was perfectly and not enough room for cheesy one liners! Which is good and I am glad Joss Wedon will not be directing Avengers 3! OK so lets recap! There is going to be parts that are going to confuse you, but if you are patient everything is explain by the third act of the film. This is the plot twist that the Russo brothers are known for.

Each scene was perfect! Right down from the characters, score, imagery and story plot. There is so much great stuff in this film, from Ant-man's (Paul Rudd) and Spider-man's (Tom Holland) intro to the main villain Zemo (Daniel Bruhl). This film has to be watched! Marvel did it again!

The child in me gives it 3.5 stars because I wanted MORE! but the grown up in me gives is 5 out of 5!
Each character was amazing! Spider-man and Ant-man stole the show! If you are a Marvel fan you will enjoy this film 100% There is many references to many of the comic book source material!

Captain America Civil War is 5 out of 5 stars and it is THE BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE TO DATE!
Simply one of Marvel's best!

**********WARNING!!!!!!!!!! WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!****************************

For those who saw the film, I would really appreciate the feedback and your opinion, I did not like that Crossbones (Frank Grillo) was killed within the first 20 minutes of the film! The opening credits were confusing at first and got me irritated because it was cut short, but made sense in the end!

The battle scene in Laos was perfect! I really enjoyed that the Sokovia Accords was done because of Scarlet Witch. It showed that, although all those prior events led up to the accords, it was because of the actions of The Avengers that pushed the UN and over 100 countries to sign the treaty.

Iron Man has gotten major character development since 2008 and up until this film I truly admired what he has become, when he saw that his actions in Sokovia were horrible and really wanted the accords to be signed so future events like this wont happen. I sided with him there, and the cross debate between Stark and Rogers was perfectly done which tore me in half.

Everything goes well, the Avengers are debating on the subject when Steve leaves to attend a funeral, Peggy Carter's funeral (Haley Atwell). We then see Sharon Carter (Emily Van Camp) provide the Eulogy to her Aunt's funeral, and this is when Captain America finds out the truth behind Agent 13. After this scene the UN meeting occurs and a bomb goes off and kills 12 people, one of them being the king of Wakanda, an African country where vibrainum, the rarest and strongest metal on earth, is created; is killed. This of course angers Tachalla, or The Black Panther (Chadwick Boeman) and is hungry for revenge when it was announced that The Winter Soldier was behind everything. This escalates into Steve finding Bucky and escaping the German police which then escalates to a fight between Black Panther and Bucky and a wild chase. Finally, it ends with Captain America, Falcon, and Bucky being captured.

Earlier before all this, a new villain is introduced and not much information is revealed about him. His name is Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) and is the mastermind and puppeteer behind all this. He poses as a UN worker and tries to mind control Bucky which then causes him to go into a rampage and goes again Iron Man and his team. Bucky is soon captured again by Falcon and Captain America and call Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Antman to help get Bucky to Russia. Bucky revealed that Zemo is trying to get the other 5 winter soldiers and use them as a weapon.

The next scene soon escalates into a fight in the airport with Spiderman (Tom Holland) introduced and fighting up against Captain America. This scene I do not want to go into detail because it HAS TO BE experienced on the screen and not by words.

Captain America and Bucky manage to get to Russia while the other Avengers are captured and stored on the R.A.F.T, a secret jail for superheroes and villains. Iron Man finds out the truth about Zemo and wants to find Captain America. He convinces Falcon to tell him and Iron Man rushes off. Iron Man, Captain America, and Bucky all arrive in the secret HYDRA facility and enter it to find the five winter soldiers dead and shot by Zemo. Zemo is hiding behind a shielded metal room and reveals his plan. It was not to unleash the winter soldiers, but to turn Iron Man and Captain America together.
He does this by revealing the video footage that was shown in the opening credits. It reveals that Bucky was responsible for killing Iron Man's parents and this infuriates Iron Man and starts fighting them both. This results in the last fight between Captain America and the Winter Soldier vs. Iron Man. Black Panther arrives and tries to kill Zemo, and Zemo tells his plan again to Black Panther. He says that after the events that happened in Age of Ultron. Zemo wanted revenge against the Avengers because Zemo's family died in Sokovia. He knew he could not kill them, so he would turn them against each other for revenge. Black Panther realizes that killing Zemo for revenge would not bring his father back. He captures Zemo and turns him in to the UN.

Captain America and Iron Man continue fighting but stop. Captain helps Bucky up and walks away. Iron Man soon returns the Avengers facility where the remaining Avengers are War Machine, Vision and himself.

In the end, Captain America goes to the R.A.F.T and breaks out Ant-man, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Falcon and head to Wakanda.

Same Coin, But Different Currency: Which Side is Right? Captain America or Iron Man

Same Coin, But Different Currency: Which Side is Right? Captain America or Iron Man

Hello SOM
Welcome to our newest post in the Opinion Editorial: Disney! Today we are going to discuss which side is correct when it comes to Captain America and Iron Man. Since this page and blog is about Disney and since Marvel is now part of Disney, we are excited to dwell into these topics!Hello
We all know that Captain America: Civil War is releasing in a few hours, many of us are excited to see what the movie will bring us! 2016 is a big year; it is a year of decisions and elections! No we are not talking about those cookie politicians running for president, and nor will we dwell on this subject! The topic right now is Captain America and Iron Man! Everyone must decide and pick a side! Hopefully most of you have picked a side by now and we hope you picked the side for the right reasons and not because that hero is your favorite hero. If you are an avid comic book reader and followed the Marvel’s Civil War comic book arc, then you can kind of guess which side to pick! In the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) however, they do not follow the comic book arcs 100%. So we are here to discuss and debate on which superhero is correct and hopefully help you decide which side to pick!

Source: Gabriel Ramos
This is Gabriel here, and I am surprisingly deciding to side with Iron Man. Captain America is my favorite hero along with Spider-man and Ant-man, but I am siding with Tony Stark. He makes a valid point and it has been proven to be right throughout the whole MCU. Iron Man believes that superheroes should allow the government, especially the UN, to oversee the superheroes, especially the Avengers. This should really be no issue because the Avengers were created by S.H.I.E.L.D a government branch of the United States. Technically speaking, the Avengers, prior to their collapse, S.H.I.E.L.D was monitoring and controlling The Avengers. Nick Fury founded and created The Avengers Initiative and oversaw them. The UN can easily oversee The Avengers and help with world crisis. This can wipe the blame off of Steve Rogers and his Avengers and hold the UN responsible for clean-up and collateral damage, whereas if The Avengers went rogue, then their actions will be held accountable.
Secondly, there are laws in many countries that are against vigilantes. General Ross tells Captain America that although he is a hero many people consider him a vigilante and to fair, yes to a certain degree The Avengers are vigilantes, they take justice upon their hands! There needs to be a government entity behind The Avengers so there can be accountability and security. In the aftermath of the battle of Manhattan when New York was being attacked by aliens and Loki, Thor captured the Tesseract and Loki and did not allow the war criminal to answer for his crimes here on Earth. Due to all these events, kingpins have risen, especially in Hell’s Kitchen and caused chaos and corruption. All these activities also created The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen known as Daredevil, The Punisher, Carmen Electra, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage to take action upon themselves and disregard the law. They have become street heroes and will result in more collateral damage. Tony Stark makes valid points and in the film, the actual Sokovia Accords is finalized the first 20 minutes into the film because of what happens within the first 15 minutes! We have seen so much destruction! Los Angeles, Hollywood, Malibu, Harlem, Manhattan, Monaco, New York’s World Fair, Puente Antiguo, Stuttgart, London, San Francisco, Sokovia, Korea, D.C, these all have been cities with damage due to superhero activity.
Lastly, Tony Stark also makes an argument that Superheroes, especially The Avengers, need to be placed in check. Sure superheroes have helped with Sokovia, Manhattan, and many more cities, but these issues were caused by superheroes in the first place. In Los Angeles, The Iron Monger was released because of Iron Man. In Monaco, Whiplash attacked and caused collateral damage to the grand prix because of a grudge he had with Tony Stark and was able to obtain the Arc Reactor. The Hulk and General Ross were involved in creation of Abomination which caused chaos in Harlem. Thor was vanished to earth and landed in Puente Antiguo, and Loki sent the destroyer and caused utter destruction to the small town. This pushed S.H.I.E.L.D to create phase 2 weapons powered by the Infinity Stone known as The Tesseract. Thor and Asgardians also left the Tesseract on Earth where Red Skull, founder of H.Y.D.R.A: the Nazi rogue science division, was able to obtain it and create H.Y.D.R.A weapons. S.H.I.E.L.D allowed ex H.Y.D.R.A and German scientists to work for S.H.I.E.L.D which led H.Y.D.R.A to grow under S.H.I.E.L.D’s eyes and almost destroy the whole world with Zola’s algorithm and caused the chaos in D.C. and the compromise of S.H.I.E.L.D and government secrets being leaked over the world. President Mathew Ellis was kidnapped by A.I.M. and it was due to Iron Man’s fault. In the events that occurred in Korea, Sokovia, and Wakanda, in regards to Ultron, were all the fault of Iron Man. S.H.I.E.L.D. is also responsible for being involved in the Cold War with Russia and allowing the Ant Man to be unleashed by Hank Pym. Years later Daren Cross almost unleashed super suits where the wearer of the suit can shrink to the size of an insect and can become unstoppable; which led Hank Pym to allow Scott Lang, an ex-criminal, to use the suit to stop Cross and caused damage to PYM Tech building and neighborhoods in San Francisco!  The heroes were there to stop these threats but these same threats where created by the heroes as well! Tony Stark makes a great point and he has seen his mistakes and which is why he speaks about this matter.

Source: Humberto Gutierrez

Hello SOM,
My name is Humberto, and I am siding on Captain America’s side, not because he’s my favorite super hero, (Spider-Man second), but because for what he stands for. As you just read, my adversary made a lot of fair points for Iron Man. However, are we really going to choose a side where a man, like Iron Man; a man who was making weapons of mass destruction.  Yes he closed his company because he found out that his own company was selling weapons in the black market, but has he really changed? He might not be designing bombs and weapons anymore; but he is making the world more dangerous. How you may ask? Do I need to remind you of Ultron? Tony is selfish, he’s always been selfish and that is a dangerous quality to have for a man; and because of that, a man can become easily blinded on what is the right thing to do.
If you’re going to choose a side, pick Steve Rogers, Captain America is a man that started with nothing; He started from humble beginnings. Unlike tony, who’s had everything; from the fame, the money, and the opportunities. Steve Rogers had to fight to defend himself and others; Even if that meant losing. He knows what’s right and wrong. He was a big conflict when he found out about H.Y.D.R.A and S.H.I.E.L.D. He stood up to Nick Fury when he introduced Project Insight. Captain America advised Nick Fury that Project Insight was a terrible idea and can be susceptible to corruption. He told him “I thought punishment came after the crime”. Captain America stands for what is fair and right. What can Captain America do when Tony Stark introduces the Sokovia Accords? Surrender his right to choose or fight for what’s right? Captain America has always been a hero that looks out for the underdog because he was the underdog and he knows how it feels like to be at the bottom where no one acknowledges you. “I know we are not perfect, but the safest hands are still our own”- Captain America.
He knows they made mistakes, however if he surrenders his rights, he will be giving up the right to choose. I am not saying that the UN is bad, but corruption will never seize to end in a world with power hungry people. Villains have no boundaries and they will attack anything and destroy anything to achieve what they desire. If Captain America surrenders his right to act above the government, then all hope is gone. What if there is a place where the heroes have to go to stop a threat but the government won’t allow it? Most of the time the government acts and thinks for themselves and their interests. Captain America believes that all heroes need to be above the government in order to save anyone in the world. No politician should be involved in their decision on who to help. Heroes help those in need because it is the right thing to do so. Most of them serve that purpose like Thor. He belongs from Asgard and Earth is his responsibility. The government does not control Thor and Thor does not respond to our government. When you give that power to the government, they control the heroes and will decide who the villains are and where to go. The government can use the heroes for personal gain like fighting their wars. Those are my points on why I believe Captain America is correct and will come out triumphant.

There you have it folks! Iron Man and Captain America are both sides of the same coin but with different currency. Which side are you on? You can see Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, Falcon, Spider-Man, Black Panther, War Machine, Vision, Cross Bones, Ant Man, Baron Zemo, Agent 13 and many more characters in Marvel’s newest film, Captain America: Civil War

Disneyland Through Your Eyes: Gerardo Jerry Peralta

Source:Gerardo Jerry Peralta
Hi SOM,It’s me Jerry, and here is how I start my day at Disneyland! My day at Disneyland when I arrive starts with walking instead of taking the tram. I tend to get to the entrance faster if I walk, lol.

When I arrive to the turnstiles I always grab around three Disneyland maps. Even if I already have one, I get another one again; it’s a habit. Once I enter the park, the first thing I do is go get myself a Disneyland pickle. I must get myself a pickle. Then I go to Space Mountain to get that ride done with. Then I go to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. That is usually what I do when I'm at Disneyland. Once those two rides are done, I park hop over to Disney California Adventure and get on Screamin'. That’s a must Get on ride for me any day I go. Once that's done, I go to Tower of Terror.  From there I go to Grizzly River Rapids if it’s open, and then to Soarin' Over California.  Once I finish these rides, I stop for a break and eat at Disney California Adventure. I usually go and eat Chinese food and rest for a bit. After my meal, a bit of relaxation, I go on Radiator Springs Racers and end my day or night at DCA before going back to Disneyland again for the rest of the night.

Once I get into Disneyland Park again I go to Main Street and look for a spot to sit down and people watch. This is a fun thing to do while I wait for the Paint the Night Parade to start. I never miss the parade as its one of my favorite parades up to this date. I just love this parade. Once the parade is over I wait for the fireworks and watch them. I love Disneyland Forever and always enjoy seeing it! Once the parade and fireworks are over I end the night by doing a little bit of shopping, even if it is just window shopping, it is always fun to walk through the stores in the parks. Disneyland is fun no matter what you do. You can go people watch, eat, shop, ride on attractions or just go to relieve some stress. This is how I do Disneyland, this is a typical Disney day for me.

I am Jerry! And you have seen Disneyland through my eyes! Thank you for reading SOM!
Have a good day!

What's Cooking? with Daniela & Gabriel

What's Cooking? with Daniela & Gabriel: Our Intro

Source: Daniela

Hello SOM, I am Daniela and welcome to our new segment of What’s Cooking? I am a pastry chef and I have been in the industry for about five years! I love to cook and especially bake! I went to Le Cordon Bleu for a certification in Baking and Pastry. I graduated in 2012 and I started Cypress College in 2013 to get an Associates in Baking and Pastry. I currently work in a bakery were I specialize in cakes, fondants, decorating, and desserts. I am excited to be part of this new segment and I am looking forward to writing reviews about food and having cooking demos with my partner in crime, Gabriel.

Hey guys! This is Gabriel from SOM! How is everyone? Well I am happy to be part of this segment with my girlfriend Daniela! I am excited to talk to you guys about the science of food, what it takes to make it, and show you awesome cooking demos! I also am excited to talk about career opportunities and discuss everything related to food! Especially the restaurant industry! I am excited to tell you guys what it takes to be in Back-of-the-house and Front-of-the-house! This will be a great segment for all you Foodies out there!
I have been in the industry for about three years! I have been cooking all my life since the age of 5! I went to Bell Gardens High and met Daniela in a cooking class my sophomore year! We had so much fun in the class! My junior and senior year I worked in Lancer CafĂ©! I cooked food and ran the beverage station! I attended Cypress College with my girlfriend Daniela in 2013! We took business and marketing classes with amazing professors and one of them was Professor Patti Kishel! She loved us! She called us foodies and the Dynamic Duo! We loved all her classes! We recently took cooking classes with Chef Jeremy Peters! Love that guy! LOVE THIS INDUSTRY!
I had a temporary job as a cook in a restaurant called La Mejor Deli and it was not what I expected! This job is hard! I love this industry and I love to cook, but I learned that BOH (back-of-the-house) was NOT for me! I love to cook but for fun, not for working! I learned that I preferred to be in FOH (Front-of-the-house) as a waiter, host, or busser! I love customer interaction!
I am currently working in El Torito as a server/host! I LOVE IT! My professor Lisa Clark told me she saw me more in FOH than in BOH! Which is great! My plan is to open up a restaurant with Daniela soon! Daniela, she does not like FOH, she prefers to be in BOH and cook and run around in the kitchen, whereas myself, I prefer talking to folks and making sure they are being treated awesome and getting great customer service. This is a great concept because I always tell her, she can run BOH and I can run FOH. Only time will tell! Thank you for reading this! These are our bios and we look forward to writing more in this new segment of What’s Cooking? With Daniela & Gabriel!
This is Gabriel!

A Message From SOM Founders 5/2/16

A Message From SOM Founders 5/2/16

Source: Angelica Ortega

Hello SOM, this is your Co-founder Angelica. I am glad to announce that Dapper Day 2016 at Disneyland was a great experience to share and experience with SOM and our members. The inspiration of Dapper Day originated with the idea of celebrating the original Disneyland and its' Era when it opened.

It was wonderful to see many people participating in Dapper Day. Many people dressed from different eras like the Twenties, Forties, Fifties, and so forth. Many who attended our even were first-timers, and I was able to absorb their initial reaction to Dapper Day. They saw the different styles and outfits that the ladies and gentlemen wore in the park; and to me that was priceless.

Even though there was some Disneyland goers that were not dressed for Dapper Day, they were still enjoying their time and our event at Disneyland. They were able to experience all of Dapper Day. Personally, this event is one of my favorites. I enjoy Fashion, I love past styles and Disney Bounding; especially when it comes to Dapper Day.

This is Angelica, thank you for being part of SOM
